Yes, I am sorry to say this, but it is that time of year…Time to Winterize the Lawn Sprinkler!
As our watering season comes to an end in NJ and the cold weather starts to set in, it becomes time to Winterize your lawn sprinkler.
Every year, the ritual of the lawn sprinkler “blow out” becomes the priority of for all lawn sprinkler systems in NJ where the frost levels extends below the depth of the installed piping.
The end goal of the winterization process is to open all drain valves in order to release remaining water that may be trapped inside. The first thing that is done is the lawn sprinkler lines are filled with compressed air to eliminate any extra water that may still be in the piping.
The longevity and durability of your lawn sprinkler is determined by the care and maintenance it is given. Should your sprinkler pipes freeze over the cold winter, it may be caused by improper winterization or a malfunction of a vital component. Should as freeze occur, there may be substantial damage to the sprinkler piping or to the sprinkler heads.
The Winterization process is very important. It needs to be performed each year for the proper maintenance of your lawn sprinkler.
Each lawn sprinkler is different, as no 2 properties are exactly the same. Elite Lawn Sprinklers, Pools & Spas understands this and our Certified Technicians are trained in the proper Winterization of any lawn sprinkler system. Call ELSPS for more details.
