That itch to get outdoors and do some yard work makes it very tempting to spoil the lawn with more attention than it needs this month.
Tough love for Lawns is the BEST – it grows strong roots and saves water!
Springtime is the most critical time for developing a healthy & drought tolerant lawn. The roots are developing more than the top growth that you see and they need the encouragement to grow deep. Deep roots will build a healthier lawn.
Watering too frequently in the Spring is NOT good for the lawn because it creates lawns with shallow roots that are weak and therefore damage easily. Any watering that you do will only apply to the topmost layer of soil, telling the roots that they don’t have to grow deep to find water.
Water your Lawn thoroughly, but ONLY when it is dry!
